The sixth Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Nations, Baroness Scotland, has called for collaboration between Commonwealth member states to combat corruption and violent extremism.
She made the call in Abuja at a lecture on how Commonwealth could help Nigeria combat corruption and extremism.
According to Scotland, Nigeria’s challenges, including that of corruption and extremism, are global and needed global collaborations to tackle them.
In 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari called for the establishment of a Commonwealth Committee to oversee the rendering of greater assistance and support to Nigeria and other member-countries which have been adversely affected by the scourge of terrorism.
